Cubitt Town Primary School

This assessment was introduced by the Government in 2021-22, and is designed to check if pupils can recall their times tables fluently. This online test requires Year 4 children to answer 25 multiplication questions. The children have 6 seconds to answer each question. In 2023/24 45% of pupils in our Year 4 cohort scored 25/25 and the average attainment was 21.7. This compares to a national average in 2022/23 of 20.2. The percentage of children who scored 20 or higher in the test is as follows. This government check requires Year 1 children to read and decode 40 words. Its purpose is to assess children's early reading and decoding skills using the sounds they have learnt in phonics.
