I hope that you find it informative and that it answers any questions you may have.My name is Louise Nicholls and I feel truly privileged to lead Modbury Primary school with our wonderful staff team.We strive to ensure that each child is happy and supported in school while receiving the best possible education during their time with us. We all learn together and we continually work hard to build upon our strengths and to address our areas for development in what is an ever-changing and challenging educational climate.Our vision is of a School Family that inspires all children to achieve and thrive in an inclusive learning environment.We are pleased to offer a varied selection of enrichment and enhancement opportunities and possess excellent links with our community. We are very proud of our reputation as a warm, welcoming, family school.All of our staff recognise that parents play an important role in the education of their children and as such, we welcome your support and co-operation in making your childs time at Modbury Primary enjoyable.We aim to provide a safe, happy and caring environment, where each child's eagerness to learn is nurtured and encouraged and where their unique personality is valued. Classes We have seven classes starting in Foundation Stage going through to Year 6. Each Year Group has its own class. The school was built in 1881 and has a proud and fascinating history. All seven classrooms have interactive whiteboards and access to state of the art ICT equipment. We have experienced Teaching Assistants who support the teaching and learning throughout the school and deliver short-term intervention programs for individual children, when needed. Facilities. Our facilities include a heated swimming pool, climbing wall, climbing equipment, on site kitchen, sports field, forest school area, sensory garden, kitchen garden and a covered area for outside play for our smallest children. We have two hard-surface playgrounds, one for the younger children, the other for the older children, as well as lovely playing fields and a wooded area; providing plenty of space for everyone to learn and have fun.
