At Pencalenick School, we believe every child deserves to be seen, celebrated and to feel that they truly belong. Our moral purpose is clear: to prepare children and young people for adulthood and a life of choice and opportunity. As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud of our caring, ambitious and inclusive community, where pupils are supported to feel safe, valued and confident as they grow, learn and develop. Pencalenick is a specialist school for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We provide a broad, engaging curriculum that supports academic achievement while also developing social skills, independence and resilience. Our approach is pupil-centred and built around recognising strengths, removing barriers to learning and nurturing aspiration, so that every pupil can experience success. We support 150 secondary-aged pupils on site and oversee four Area Resource Bases (ARBs) across Cornwall, working in partnership with mainstream schools to provide high-quality, inclusive specialist provision for children with complex or additional learning needs. Through these partnerships, we help pupils to develop confidence, belonging and meaningful connections within their local communities.
