Pendle View Primary School is a generic community Special School for children who have special educational needs including Moderate, Severe and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Physical Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment and Multi-Sensory Impairment. The school is located within Pendle in East Lancashire. We are registered with the DfE to take children from 2 - 11 years but our usual intake is from 4 (Reception) to 11 (Year 6). We do not currently have pre-school provision. Pendle View benefits from large school premises, a wide range of play facilities and specialised teaching areas. The facilities at the school include:- Pendle View currently has 134 pupils on roll. The needs of our pupils are met by a trained specialist staff team of Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Welfare Assistants. We also employ our own staff to support a range of specialisms including Sensory Processing, Communication and Physical Development. The school is supported by Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists who visit on a regular basis. The school is also supported by Specialist School Nurses and when necessary are assisted by the Visual and Hearing Impairment Services and by the Educational Psychology Service. Pendle View Primary has excellent links with local schools and with shops, businesses and facilities within the local community and beyond, which enable the children to benefit from a wide range of educational visits.
