About
School overview

Orchard Infant School and Nursery is in the centre of Sprotbrough Village; it is set in lovely grounds which were originally part of Sprotbrough Rectory. There are 6 classes in the infant school (28 children in each class) and a 52 place Nursery (26 children in the morning session and 26 in the afternoon session). We aim to make our school a happy, caring and stimulating place where every individual is valued and given the opportunity to develop to their full potential. To support us in achieving this, we endeavour to make childrens learning interesting, relevant and engaging. Educational visits and visitors in school are used each half-term to stimulate learning and arouse curiosity. Wherever possible, children are encouraged to apply their learning through cross curricular, whole school centres of interest. The school believes that children should have access to a broad and balanced curriculum, where individual strengths can flourish and where a breadth of experiences enable children to develop across all areas of learning.
