The role of the academy council is a strategic one. Its key functions are to set the aims and objectives for the school and targets for school improvement. It monitors and evaluates the school's progress towards these and is a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher. Andy joined Warren Road Primary School as a Co-opted Governor in June 2022, bringing a particular focus on the curriculum and Upper Key Stage 2. With over 20 years of experience in education, Andy currently serves as an Executive Principal overseeing two primary schools within the London Borough of Bromley, having previously worked across and led schools within multi-academy trusts. Throughout his career, Andy has been dedicated to improving outcomes for all pupils through strong leadership, strategic development, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. He is passionate about the power of a rich, well-structured curriculum that meets the needs of every learner. Andy firmly believes that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves access to a tailored and aspirational educational provision one that enables them to become confident, successful, and lifelong learners.
